West Sussex Teaching School Hub

GLF Schools

GLF Schools was founded in 2012 in order to enable the federation of Glyn School (an academy in 2011) and Danetree Junior School. Together, we began our journey to become a MAT of more than 1000 talented staff working with over 10,000 children in 40 schools across 5 regions in southern England.

Regional ITT Providers Communities

Regional ITT Providers Communities

Overview

Regional ITT Providers Communities facilitate:

  • Collaboration between ITT Providers
  • Connections between ITT Providers and Maths Hubs

The aim is to support ITT Providers to collaboratively reflect on how best to help trainees understand the Five Big Ideas in Teaching for Mastery, so that they can develop classroom practices that allow all children to learn and enjoy mathematics.

By connecting ITT Providers with Maths Hubs, further opportunities for ITTs can be accessed, such as arranging lesson observations in schools where teaching for mastery is central to maths teaching and learning.

In addition, the Regional ITT Providers Communities respond to local needs, addressing priorities identified by community members.

Who can be a member of a Regional ITT Providers Community?

All DfE-accredited ITT Providers with responsibility for leading maths provision and their local delivery partners, alongside members of each Maths Hubs Leadership and Management team, are invited to join a regional community.

These regional communities are led by a pair of Regional Community Leads (representing both Higher Education and school-based provision).

National Webinars and Regional Events

All ITT Providers are invited to National Webinars:

  • National Webinar 1

4 February 1600–1715

Navigating the current maths education landscape and discussing the implications for ITT providers

Charlie Stripp, Director of the NCETM and MEI Chief Executive, shared his thoughts on the current maths education landscape.

Elizabeth Lambert, Deputy Director for Primary, explored the role of representation and structure in learning mathematics.

  • National Webinar 2

This webinar will provide an opportunity for ITT Providers to consider how best to support their trainees to understand the role of representation and structure in the classroom.
