West Sussex Teaching School Hub

GLF Schools

GLF Schools was founded in 2012 in order to enable the federation of Glyn School (an academy in 2011) and Danetree Junior School. Together, we began our journey to become a MAT of more than 1000 talented staff working with over 10,000 children in 40 schools across 5 regions in southern England.

REach Teach Primary Partnership are a national provider accredited by REAch2, the largest primary MAT in the country. Early Years and Primary expertise is woven throughout the programme with a strong focus on ‘what makes excellent primary practice’ and we deliver the programme on both a local and national scale through a combination of online national training and in-person local training across 16 different regions nationally. These include East and West Sussex, where we have a number of strong partnership schools with a commitment to initial teacher training and excellent training environments.

For 2024, we are offering a training programme which encompasses both QTS and a PGCE, working in partnership with the excellent team at Bath Spa University. Trainees are based in a partnership school of their choice for their main placement, and are released from school one or two days per week to attend training days – either together as a national cohort online, or in local ‘hubs’ where they build a local peer and professional network, have the opportunity to observe excellent in-school practice, and apply their learning practically through rehearsal and feedback. There is a strong consideration for wellbeing and workload throughout the programme design, through clear and simple systems, clear communication and a PGCE that blends theory seamlessly with the wider training programme. The training also includes dedicated wellbeing and study time built into the curriculum so support trainees to thrive during their training year.

Courses offered:  Primary (3-7 or 5-11 pathways)
