GLF Schools

GLF Schools was founded in 2012 in order to enable the federation of Glyn School (an academy in 2011) and Danetree Junior School. Together, we began our journey to become a MAT of more than 1000 talented staff working with over 10,000 children in 40 schools across 5 regions in southern England.

What our participants say about undertaking an NPQ with GLF

NPQH participant:

"I have thoroughly enjoyed the NPQH so far. The blend of remote/face-to-face/self-study has been good, as it has allowed for flexibility around work patterns and time challenges within school. The venue is extremely comfortable and we are always made to feel very welcome. Julian Grant is an excellent facilitator; he is friendly, understanding and extremely mindful of the challenges that come with aspiring headship/headship. He always responds to queries and has really gone the extra mile to support me, when I have had questions or have requested support regarding the course and my own personal development."

NPQSL participant

"I have thoroughly enjoyed this NPQSL course with West Sussex as it was delivered locally by my previous Deputy Head who then became a Headteacher, with colleagues from the same area therefore enabling us to establish strong network connections. I have gained so much this course and I feel better prepared for my next step up. I would strongly recommend it to anyone who is interested in being part of a Senior Leadership Team in the future."

NPQSL participant

"The NPQSL has empowered me to interview for my first SLT role. I have gained an invaluable insight from both Julian as facilitator and the other members of staff who attended the course about effective leadership in schools. It is great to have links to other teachers in the local area who are going through similar experiences and helping each other where we can."

NPQSL participant

"The NPQSL has been a fantastic developmental programme supporting my growth as a senior leader. The opportunity to work with other local aspiring senior leaders has been invaluable and I have connected with some incredibly gifted teachers in an environment that has encouraged the sharing of ideas and challenged my understanding of strategic school planning."

NPQSL participant

"The NPQSL programme has been enjoyable from start to finish. It has given me a new confidence with regards to running a school; from ensuring good behaviour mechanisms are in place, to building and maintaining a positive school culture. Julian, our facilitator, has made the experience engaging and insightful and his delivery has allowed us to gain in-depth knowledge of the active ingredients needed for successful and sustained implementation in school. In addition, as a group, we have made friends for life and continually shared good practice. I would recommend this course to any aspiring senior leaders. This will provide a useful foundation for anyone who is ready to start their senior leadership journey and provide a safe space to collaborate and share good practice."

NPQSL participant

"I have particularly found working with colleagues from other schools and exchanging ideas beneficial.  The experience that the instructors have is borne out in the presentations and discussions we have had over the past months and their support has also been invaluable."

NPQSL participant

"Julian as a facilitator has been able to bring the content of the NPQSL to life. With his vast knowledge of all areas of education and school leadership, alongside his calm and supportive personality, Julian has made completing this course an enjoyable experience throughout."

NPQH participant

"Julian has been nothing short of inspirational. His approach enables everyone to have their say openly and he shows great respect when listening to everyone's comments. He is able to share with us his many years of experience in a most supportive way."
