GLF Teacher Training with Inspiring Future Teachers are thrilled to announce the launch of a brand-new Teacher Training sub-hub based at Aureus School in Didcot, Oxfordshire! This exciting development marks a significant step forward in their mission to support and grow the next generation of educators.

The new Oxford/Reading sub-hub will serve as a central point for collaboration across the wider GLF Trust, helping to meet the teacher training and recruitment needs of all of their regional schools, and will be run in conjunction with Highdown School and 6th Form Centre in Reading.

"We are keen to ensure that we meet the initial teacher training recruitment needs of all GLF schools, and the launch of our Oxford/Reading new sub-hub of GLF Schools teacher training is an exciting step towards this for all our GLF schools in this region. We are also thrilled that expert local GLF leaders will lead this training hub from this region" Angela Rodda, Director of GLF TSH.

The hub will train new teachers in both the primary and secondary phases, who will be school-based Monday to Thursday, with weekly training sessions at this highly successful secondary school.

At Aureus School, their mission is to cultivate ambition and achieve high standards for all - a vision proudly extended to every trainee teacher who joins the programme. With this new hub, they aim to provide a nurturing, high-quality training environment that empowers future educators to thrive. Kirsty Rogers, Headteacher of Aureus School enthused “We are incredibly proud to be the home of this new Teacher Training Hub. This initiative reflects our commitment to excellence and to developing both students and future educators. We’re excited to welcome aspiring teachers into our community and support them as they build the skills and confidence needed to thrive in the profession.”

GLF TT also have an established and successful teacher training hub at The Beacon School in Banstead, Surrey, which welcomed and supported 50 trainee teachers in 2024/25.

SCITT Lead and Deputy Director of GLF TSH Jen Hammond, is excited for the launch; "The application rate for this, our first year, has been encouraging, proving the appetite for initial teacher training at GLF Schools in the Oxfordshire region. We look forward to welcoming the new cohort of trainee teachers in September and to growing this new regional hub in the coming years. As we expand further, we envisage our portfolio increasing the teacher training provision in order to offer placement across all of our GLF Schools in the region.”
