GLF Schools

GLF Schools was founded in 2012 in order to enable the federation of Glyn School (an academy in 2011) and Danetree Junior School. Together, we began our journey to become a MAT of more than 1000 talented staff working with over 10,000 children in 40 schools across 5 regions in southern England.

NPQs from 2024- 25

We are continuing with our current cohorts of NPQs with Best Practice Network and Education Development Trust, but new applications for Autumn 24-25 will have different funding arrangements and will be offered through Best Practice Network and Teach First.

Funding from September 2024

On 21 March, the DfE released NPQ funding information for new participants starting in Autumn 2024.

The bursary funding is capped at 10,800 places nationally, and Lead Providers will be given bursary allocations, which they will then share with their delivery partners.

Further details from the DfE can be found here.

From September, there will be scholarship funding for all teachers from publicly funded schools and 16-19 educational organisations up to the cap of 10,800 places in the following NPQs:

  • NPQLPM- Leading Primary Mathematics

  • NPQSEN – NPQ for those leading on SEND**

  • NPQH - Headship

  • NPQLTD – Leading Teacher Development (only for Lead Mentors working with an accredited ITT provider in 24-25)

For all other NPQs, scholarship funding to cover the full NPQ course cost will be available to selected schools with the following criteria:

  • The 50% of schools with the highest proportion of students who attract pupil premium funding. (The headteacher will have been contacted by email by GLF TSH if their school is eligible)

  • 16-19 educational settings identified as having a high disadvantage

  • Early Years settings that meet the highly disadvantaged criteria (this is relevant for the Early Years Leadership NPQ only)

  • If you are unsure of your school’s bursary funding situation, please contact us:   Caroline Carroll caroline.carroll@millais.org.uk

In addition, funding is also available for:

  • The Early Headship Coaching Offer, if you are in the first 5 years of headship; those heads will also need to be doing, or have done, the Headship NPQ

Applying for NPQ programmes for Autumn 2024

We therefore recommend you apply as soon as possible to ensure you have the best chance of accessing any bursary funding you are eligible for.

APPLY by 15th of June 24 for any bursary funded places.

Applications submitted do not guarantee a bursary-funded place.

For all NPQs, there will also be a school and self-funded option. The costs for these are in the diagram below. Click on the diagram to access a live version with clickable links.
