Managing Behaviours and Emotions in Key Stage 1
This year we are introducing a Key Stage 1, Managing Behaviours and Emotions course to run alongside our popular Early Years course. This highly anticipated professional development opportunity is designed for KS1 Leads, KS1 Teachers and KS1 Teaching Assistants who are looking to enhance their teaching skills and improve outcomes for KS1 pupils with SEND.
The programme consists of three sessions, which will be facilitated by Katie Scott (Inclusion Coordinator & Senior Leader) at Barnham Primary School in West Sussex. This FREE programme is exclusively available to all schools within the West Sussex Teaching School Hub area.
The course is designed to develop KS1 practitioners’ use of communication, pupil well-being approaches and to improve outcomes for KS1 pupils with SEND. The course will increase understanding of how the prime aspects that may affect the successful transition to KS1 for pupils with SEND and how this can be enhanced through communication skills and attachment theory to develop pupils’ emotional resilience and self-regulation of challenging behaviour. A focus on planning for the KS1 environment will link to current data and key theoretical concepts and will support participants to reflect on their own school/setting’s current practice. Case studies will be used to exemplify pedagogical approaches.
Places are limited, so we encourage you to reserve your spot as soon as possible by clicking on the booking link or scanning the QR code within the flyer.
